Yogini Ekadashi 2026: In the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, Ekadashi fast is considered very special and important. There are 24 Ekadashi fasts in a year and 26 in Adhikamas. Ekadashi fast is dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the sustainer of the world. On the day of Ekadashi, along with fasting, special worship of God is done. There is a religious belief that fasting on Ekadashi is the most auspicious opportunity to get the blessings of Lord Vishnu. By observing fast on Ekadashi, one gets the special blessings of Lord Vishnu, due to which happiness and prosperity reside in life.

Not only this, Ekadashi fast is also considered to destroy the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly. This fast also opens the path to salvation after death. There is also such an Ekadashi fast, which gives the reward equivalent to feeding 88 thousand Brahmins. This Ekadashi fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month, which is known as Yogini Ekadashi. This year, the fast of Yogini Ekadashi will be observed on Friday, July 10.

  • According to Drik Panchang, Ashadh Krishna Ekadashi tithi will start on Friday, July 10 at 8.16 am.
  • This date will end on Saturday, July 11 at 5:22 am.

In such a situation, Udayatithi is not being received on both 10th and 11th July. According to the scriptures, when Ekadashi tithi does not fall in the solar period on both the days, then Ekadashi is valid on the first day only. According to this rule of fasting, householders should observe Yogini Ekadashi fast on 10th July, Friday. Whereas in Vaishnav tradition, fast of Yogini Ekadashi can be observed on 11th July.

It is said in the scriptures that it is always auspicious to break the fast of Ekadashi on Dwadashi date only. The auspicious time for breaking the fast of Yogini Ekadashi on 11th July will start at 01:50 pm. This auspicious time for breaking the fast will last till 04:36 in the evening. Whereas for the people who follow Vaishnav tradition and keep fast on Yogini Ekadashi on 11th July, the auspicious time of Paran will be from 05.32 am to 08.18 am on 12th July.
