Tesla vehicles have been in high demand since the potential of self-driving cars became popular. Tesla Chief Elon Musk has hinted in a new update that Tesla may soon acquire a Tap to Park function, which will allow cars to park autonomously without any user involvement.
Musk has also claimed that the functionality is currently in the works. The technology is expected to be included in upcoming Tesla automobiles.
Musk said that Tesla is developing a function that will let the vehicle identify possible parking spots and let people select one by touching on it in response to a post on X. The driver can exit the automobile after choosing a spot, and the auto will park itself.
“We are developing a feature in which the automobile identifies potentially feasible parking locations. You select one, exit your vehicle, and it parks there,” he wrote.
“Autopark” is a comparable feature available to Tesla owners who bought their cars before Ultrasonic Sensors (USS) were discontinued. Nevertheless, Autopark does not let customers select from a variety of parking spots, and drivers have to stay in their cars and be ready to take over if needed.
Meanwhile, Among the many new enhancements that Tesla has revealed is the ability for its cars to automatically dial 911 in the event of an accident when the airbags deploy. This week, Tesla is launching the 2023 Holiday Update for X, as the company stated.
The enhanced park assistance with 3D visuals, support for rear-screen Bluetooth headsets, support for Apple Podcasts, and new blind spot indications were among the enhancements that the firm highlighted.
