Team India Tour Of Sri Lanka: A big update has come out regarding the Indian cricket team’s tour of Sri Lanka. The two-match Test series between the two countries is going to start from August 15, 2026. Although, its official schedule has not been released yet by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), but according to reports, the entire schedule of the series has almost been decided. This series is very important for both the teams in view of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).

Team India tour to Sri Lanka

According to reports, this tour will start from the historic Galle Stadium, where the pitch which is considered helpful to spinners will give a big test to Team India. This match can be played from 15th August to 19th August. After the end of the first match, both the teams will move to Colombo. The second and last Test match of the series can be played from 23 August to 27 August at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) ground in Colombo.

This series is very important for both the teams to remain in the race for the final of the World Test Championship. At present, the Sri Lankan team is in excellent form in Test cricket. They have recently defeated England at home and after that have also performed brilliantly against South Africa and New Zealand. In such a situation, the Sri Lankan team can present a big challenge of spin to the Indian batsmen on their home pitches.

Still suspense on T20 matches

According to the initial plan, apart from this Test series, a series of three T20 matches was also to be played between the two teams. This T20 series was proposed as a fundraiser to help the victims of last year’s cyclone. But clouds of doubt are looming over the organization of these T20 matches. Due to the busy schedule of the Indian team and the recent changes in Sri Lankan cricket, it is unlikely that these T20 matches will also get a place along with the Test matches. If this series is played then it can be organized before 2 test matches.
