Taylor Swift has described her experience working with Dakota Johnson on the music video for “Patient Zero” as a “dream sequence”, praising the actress and the creative team behind the project.
Swift unveiled the music video, featuring herself, Johnson and Colin Farrell, with a cameo by Cara Delevingne, during the 2026 VMAs. She later took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the project and thank the cast.
“The Patient Zero video is finally out in the world! Getting to work with @chivexp was something out of a dream sequence, and I learned so much from getting to watch his genius in action,” Swift wrote.
She also thanked Johnson and Farrell for trusting her with the project, praising their “time, taste, and talent”.
Swift recalled sharing a light-hearted moment with Johnson during the shoot, noting that the two were “twinning for an entire shoot” and describing the experience as “truly delightful”.
The singer also singled out Farrell’s performance, saying his portrayal of a villain was even more impressive to witness in person. She described the actor as “an absolute light” and praised his kindness.
Swift thanked Delevingne for agreeing to appear as “the lusty other woman”, adding a playful reference to their friendship.
The video presents Swift’s story of two women connected by the same romantic interest. Farrell plays the man at the centre of the story, while Swift and Johnson portray the two women involved with him. The storyline ultimately sees one woman pass on advice after dealing with her former partner.
Swift is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time and has achieved major crossover success between country and pop. Her catalogue includes hits such as “Love Story”, “You Belong with Me”, “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space” and “Look What You Made Me Do”.
