Tata Sierra EV- What To Expect?

With the relaunch of the Tata Sierra, the legendary nameplate once again became the talk of the town. Even though the new Sierra introduced major updates to keep up with modern competition, OG Sierra fans missed something. And to fix that, Tata will soon launch the Tata Sierra EV. From what we know, Brand will soon reveal the Sierra.ev on 30th June 2026. Here is everything we can expect from the Sierra EV-

Looks-

While looks remain with most individuals, with the latest Sierra, Tata hit the right spot. Sierra got the right futuristic, boxy design while retaining some of the iconic elements from the original Sierra. And the same is true of the upcoming Sierra.ev. Once launched, it would be difficult for us to differentiate from the ICE and EV Sierra. The only noticeable change could be to the front fascia of the Sierra, with the sealing of the front grille and the absence of SIERRA badging beneath the connect LED strip on the nose. To read, the design appears unchanged.

Interiors & Features-

Just like the outside, the interior of the ICE version is also expected to be shared with the Sierra EV. The feature list is expected to include a 3-screen cockpit, front-ventilated seats, Level 2+ ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats, and much more.

Being a Tata, Sierra.ev would be disappointing on the safety front. As the ICE version scored a 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP, with 31.14 out of 32 for Adult protection and 44.73 out of 49 for child protection. Same safety performance is expected from the Sierra.ev as well. What else?

Powertrain-

By now, we are well aware that the Sierra.ev would be sharing its powertrain with Harrier.ev. Sierra EV would feature the acti.ev+.That being said, the much-demanded AWD powertrain option will be returning to the Sierra lineup. Sierra.ev expected to be offered in two different battery packs featuring a 65 kWh or a 75 kWh battery pack. The AWD powertrain is expected to be reserved for the higher trims, delivering 390hp and more than 500 N·m of torque. while lower trims will get RWD and a 230-horsepower powertrain. The driving range would be around 500 km for the smaller battery pack and 600 km for the larger one.

Rivals-

Considering the fuel situation in India, EV sales are gaining momentum. That being said, once launched with the powertrain offering and features, a direct rival to the Sierra.ev would be the Tata Harrier.ev. The other major rival will be the best-selling mid-size EV SUV, the Mahindra 9S. Tata is expected to price the Sierra aggressively, and could possibly make it cheaper than the Hyundai Creta EV.

Launch & Pricing-

The launch of the Tata Sierra.ev is just around the corner. The brand has already announced the launch date for 30th June 2026. As Tata shocked everyone with the attractive introductory price of Rs 11.49 lakh for the ICE Sierra, they can do the same with the Sierra.ev. The Sierra.ev could be priced slightly below Rs 17 lakh for the lower trims and up to Rs 28 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) for the higher trims. What are your thoughts on this upcoming launch?
