The upcoming Tata Avinya premium electric SUV has been spied testing in India for the first time. The heavily camouflaged test mule concealed most of its design details, except for silhouette and a few elements. Upfront, the EV features a sealed-off front grille, slim DRLs and vertically positioned lighting elements on the bumper. large aero-optimized alloy wheels.
The spy shots suggest that the electric SUV will be equipped with flush-fitting door handles, thick body cladding, a sloping roofline, a roof-mounted rear spoiler and wraparound taillamps. The EV will sit on a long wheelbase and feature long rear doors along with a short front overhang. Dimensionally, the production-ready Avinya is expected to be around 4,300mm long, matching the length of the concept model.

According to fresh media reports, the Tata Avinya will be based on the Freelander architecture, developed by the Chery-JLR joint venture. This scalable platform supports an electrical architecture of up to 8000V and DC fast charging up to 350kW. Tata Motors is yet to announced the powertrain details; however, the electric SUV is likely to come with battery packs ranging between 65kWh – 80kWh.

The dashboard will have a neat and clean design with an integrated screen placed above the soundbar.
