After several teasers, Skoda has launched the Quilac compact SUV. Keeping the Indian market in mind, a car smaller than four meters has been specially introduced.
Its ex-showroom price starts at Rs 7.89 lakh. Its booking will start on December 2, 2024. It has also been launched for less than Rs 10 lakh. At the same time, Tata Motors and MG have also recently launched cars cheaper than Rs 10 lakh. Skoda Quilac will compete with cars from brands like Tata, Maruti, MG.
The Kailak looks like a mini Kushaq, with the front and rear being very similar. You can see the Kailak with a shorter length than the Kushaq, which follows the rules of a sub-four SUV. It also has 17-inch alloy wheels.
Special features of the interior include dual digital screens, a powered driver seat, leatherette upholstery, connected car technology, ambient lighting, and a six-speaker Canton sound system.
All versions of the Kailok will get safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control program ISOFIX child seat mounting points, headrests, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers.
Specifications of Skoda Kylaq
The length of Skoda Qilaq is 3.95 meters and the wheelbase is 2.56 meters. Apart from this, it has a ground clearance of 189mm. The boot capacity is 446 liters and when the seats are folded down, the boot space becomes 1,265 liters.
The Kilak has been launched in the market with the power of Skoda’s 1.0-liter TSI petrol. This SUV will be available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
This is a very important car for Skoda as the company has launched a car priced below Rs 10 lakh after almost a decade. This car can perform well in tier 3 and tier 4 markets.
Compete with these cars
Tata has also recently launched Tata Curve for less than Rs 10 lakh. The ex-showroom price of Curve starts at Rs 9.99 lakh. Apart from this, the recently launched MG Windsor EV is also cheaper than Rs 10 lakh, whose starting ex-showroom price is Rs 9.99 lakh. Skoda Kylok competes with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonnet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Franx, Maruti Brezza and Toyota Tazer.
