Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has praised the makers of the upcoming film The Vvaan for their portrayal of Chhath Puja, saying the festival has been presented with great respect and authenticity in Hindi cinema.
Speaking at the film’s trailer launch in Delhi, Tamannaah said the makers paid close attention to the details and emotions associated with the festival while filming the Chhath Puja song Chhathi Maiya.
“For the first time in Hindi cinema, Chhath Puja has been presented like this. Genuinely, Deepak and Arunabh sir, they understand this so well, and they have so much respect, and they so strongly feel about it that while we were shooting, they made sure that everything was taken care of and it was shot beautifully and shot with great respect,” she said.
The actress also spoke about what Chhath Puja represents for her, describing it as a celebration of gratitude and appreciation for life in all its forms.
“Chhath Puja stands for gratitude; it stands for being grateful for everything that we have, the ups and downs in life, all of it together,” she said, adding that she felt the essence of the festival had been captured in the song, which has received considerable love.
Tamannaah also thanked the filmmakers for including her in the song and said Chhathi Maiya had been attracting attention and positive responses on social media.
“This film is very special to all of us. There are so many folk stories in our country, and bringing them to the big screen takes a lot of courage, clarity, and vision,” she said.
The Vvaan marks the first collaboration between Tamannaah and Sidharth Malhotra. The film also stars Manish Paul, Shweta Tiwari, Sunil Grover and Anup Soni in key roles.
Directed by Deepak Kumar Misra, the film is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor under the Balaji Telefilms banner. The Vvaan is scheduled to release in theatres on September 25.
