Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut’s long-running public feud has resurfaced, with the Gandhari actress now responding to her latest ‘upbringing’ jibe. Kangana recently took aim at Taapsee through social media posts, accusing her of ridiculing her upbringing and parents. While Kangana later deleted the posts, the remarks have once again brought their years-old rivalry into focus. During the trailer launch of Gandhari, Taapsee addressed the controversy and questioned why the issue continues to be brought up. The actress suggested that the feud could have ended much earlier had people stopped asking both actresses about their past disagreements and comments.
Taapsee Pannu reacts to Kangana Ranaut’s ‘sasti copy’ jibe
Taapsee Pannu has addressed Kangana Ranaut’s latest remarks amid their long-running public feud. Speaking at the trailer launch of her upcoming Netflix film Gandhari, Taapsee appeared to suggest that the controversy continues largely because the media keeps revisiting it.
“Aap khatam kyun nahi hone dete yeh baat? Koi question puchna hum dono se band karega jab yeh wala, toh yeh issue bhi khatam ho jayega,” Taapsee said, questioning why people do not let the matter rest.
She further said that the repeated questions indicate that people enjoy watching the two actresses discuss their differences. According to Taapsee, if such questions were stopped, the issue would have ended much earlier. “Aap sab logon ko maza aa raha hai yeh sab dekh ke, isiliye wahi sawaal puch rahe hain. Aise sawaal puchna agar aap band kar dete, toh yeh baat kab ki khatam ho jati,” she added.

What did Kangana Ranaut say about Taapsee Pannu?
Taapsee’s response comes days after Kangana took a dig at her through Instagram Stories. Kangana took to her Instagram Stories to launch a fresh attack on Taapsee Pannu, calling her a “sasti copy” and accusing her of crossing the line by allegedly commenting on her upbringing and parents. Kangana claimed she has never involved anyone’s parents in an argument but said she felt compelled to respond this time.
“One Sasti copy is out and about with her upcoming B grade film but as usual only headline point with the media is Kangana Ranaut,” she wrote. Kangana further accused Taapsee of “shamelessly ridiculing” her upbringing and parents. She then questioned, “Why couldn’t they birth someone original like my parents did? Why a cheap Sasti copy?”

The latest exchange is another chapter in the actresses’ years-old public spat. Their feud dates back to 2019, when Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel described as a “sasti copy” of Kangana on social media.
The rivalry intensified in 2020 amid debates surrounding nepotism, Bollywood outsiders and industry privilege. Kangana had also referred to Taapsee and other actresses as “B-grade” actors and “needy outsiders”, leading to further public exchanges. Despite the passage of several years, their names continue to be linked whenever either actress comments on the other. Taapsee’s latest response, however, suggests that she would prefer the controversy to finally be put to rest.
Meanwhile, Taapsee is gearing up for the release of , in which she plays Bani, a mother who embarks on a relentless search for her abducted daughter. The action-thriller will be released on Netflix on September 3.
