Kia wanted to name the new car Clavis, but as a strategy, compact suv Was not named Clavis but Syros. According to media reports, Kia initially thought of naming Clavis for the compact SUV, but later abandoned it.

Kia sells MPVs in India under the Carens and Carnival names, and their names start with ‘C’. Cyros will be sold as a ‘compact SUV’. Therefore, Kia thought it better to name its SUV with ‘S’ because the company sells Seltos and Sonet in the SUV segment.

Comfort and space in Kia Syros
In the new Kia Syros SUV, more attention has been paid to rear-seat space and comfort. Therefore it will be different from other compact SUVs. It has a boxy design with a flat roof and upright rear, to maximize space. Syros will have more interior space than Sonet, and it can be a SUV to compete with Seltos.
Electric version of Syros will also come
At present, Kia has not made any disclosure regarding the engine of Syros. It is being speculated that its fuel based version will be launched first. After this the company can launch the electric version of Syros in the market.
Both versions will be offered as front wheel drive. The upcoming Syros compact SUV can be launched in the upper range of sub-4 meter SUVs like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and the recently launched Skoda Kylak.
