NEET Student Death Patna Hostel: A heart-wrenching news has come out from Patna, the capital of Bihar, which has once again exposed the terrible truth and tension behind the country’s biggest medical entrance examination (NEET). Shruti Kumari, a 19-year-old student from Samastipur, was found dead on Tuesday in her room at ‘Radhe Krishna Hostel’ located in Secretariat Colony (Patrakar Nagar police station area), Patna. The same room where she was sitting day and night dreaming of becoming a doctor, became witness to her death.

Last meal on Monday night…and a scary scene in the room in the morning
According to hostel officials and her roommates, Shruti had dinner normally with everyone on Monday night and then went to sleep in her room. No one had any inkling that this would be his last meal. Next morning, when Shruti did not open her door for a long time, there was a commotion in the hostel. When one peeped through the window, everyone was shocked to see the scene inside – Shruti’s body was hanging from a noose. She had returned to Patna from her village only about 10 days ago.

“Father and mother do not talk…” Loneliness or the deepening suspense of NEET?
Other girl students of the hostel have made a very shocking revelation in their statement to the police. He told that Shruti was suffering from severe mental stress and loneliness for some time. She often said that her parents no longer spoke to her regularly. But, the suspense does not end here. Her friends and close ones told that due to the ongoing NEET exam controversy for the last few weeks, news of paper leak and uncertainty about the future of the exam, Shruti was completely broken inside.

This suspicious death of Shruti is not an isolated incident. Within a few days, the stress of this examination also took the life of another promising student, Akanksha Chaturvedi from Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh. Akanksha’s farmer father had taken a huge loan of Rs 15 lakh from ‘Kisan Credit Card’ to make his daughter a doctor. Even after passing the exam well, when the controversy over paper leaks and irregularities heated up in the country, Akanksha stopped eating and drinking due to the fear of having to take the exam again. She wrote in her suicide note: “I have become a burden to my parents, I have ruined everything for them.”
Awaiting the forensic team and post mortem report, when will this series of deaths stop?
As soon as information about the incident was received, Patna Police and a special Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team inspected the incident site in detail. The body has been sent for post-mortem and the family members have been informed. Although the police has not yet officially confirmed the real reason for this death, but this controversy arising out of NEET exam is now becoming a deadly trap for the innocent students of the country. Now it remains to be seen what truth of this mysterious death comes out from the post mortem report and police investigation.
