There is a religious story of solar eclipse. Let us know the story of solar eclipse.

According to mythological beliefs…

According to mythological beliefs, the main relation of solar eclipse is considered to be with Rahu. The story of solar eclipse is related to the churning of the ocean. According to this story, after the nectar came out from the churning of the ocean, when there was a dispute between the gods and the demons about drinking it, Lord Vishnu came in the form of Mohini and did the work of distributing the nectar, but he played a trick and started deceiving the demons.

Meanwhile, among the demons, a demon named Swarbhanu came to know that the demons were being cheated. Then he disguised himself as a deity and sat among them and drank the nectar. Sun and Moon identified him and informed Lord Vishnu about it. At that very moment Lord Vishnu cut off the head of that demon with Sudarshan Chakra.

Rahu became the head part of Swarabhanu

Swarbhanu had drank the nectar, hence he did not die. His head part became Rahu and his torso part became Ketu. It is believed that Rahu tries to swallow the Sun from time to time, hence the Sun is eclipsed, but Rahu has only the head. Therefore the Sun comes out after some time and the eclipse ends.
