Mahakal Bhasma Aarti 21 June 2026: Like every day, on Sunday, June 21, Bhasma Aarti of Lord Mahakal was performed in the morning in the world famous Mahakal temple and after this, attractive makeup was done. As soon as the door opened in the morning, the process of worshiping Baba started. The pundits worshiped all the gods and goddesses installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple.
First of all, Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga was anointed with the holy water of Koti Teerth. Abhishekam was also performed with Panchamrit made from milk, curd, ghee, sugar and various fruit juices. During this period Vedic mantras were also chanted. This scene was a wonderful experience for the devotees. During the worship, devotees offered Hari-Om water on Baba.
After Bhasma Aarti, Baba Mahakal was beautifully decorated. Bilva leaves, flowers, Rudraksh garlands and silver jewelery were offered to Baba Mahakal. A silver trident was worn on the head. Whoever saw this form of Lord Mahakal kept seeing it.
After worship and adornment, various types of sweets and fruits were offered to Lord Mahakal. Bhasma Aarti concluded with Kapoor Aarti and Naivedya. A large number of devotees were present at Nandi Hall and barricades to witness the tradition of offering ashes. Along with the Aarti, the entire temple complex echoed with the chants of Baba Mahakal and the devotees were seen immersed in faith.
