The actress admitted that before her break, she had even considered deleting WhatsApp and Instagram altogether. However, she realised that stepping away from social media permanently was not practical because of her work, family, friends and everyday life. Instead, Sumona now hopes to change how she uses these platforms. She said she has never been interested in chasing likes, comments or follower counts. Going forward, she wants to build a community of like-minded people, where conversations can centre around important subjects such as physical and mental health, endometriosis, perimenopause, wellness, travel, books, pets, food, independence and different lifestyle choices, including being single, child-free or part of a DINK (Double Income, No Kids) couple.

Sumona also addressed another issue that has troubled her for years: the nature of comments on her social media posts. According to her, these comments have almost always come from men.

At the same time, she pointed out that many genuine followers choose not to engage publicly. Instead, they quietly read her posts, leave a like or occasionally send supportive private messages before moving on. Despite acknowledging that inappropriate attention often comes with being a female actor, Sumona made it clear that she has no intention of allowing such behaviour to affect her career. She said she plans to continue acting for as long as she can while maintaining boundaries around her private life.

The actress also explained why she chose to write a lengthy note instead of posting a simple photograph. She wanted to see how many people would take the time to slow down, read her words and stay engaged with the message rather than scrolling past.
