Riyadh: Two Indian expatriates, including a man from Kerala, have died in a tragic road accident in Saudi Arabia’s Al Qassim province. The deceased have been identified as Shanoob Mohammed Sheriff (30), a native of Nellikkad, Pothundy in Palakkad’s Nemmara, and Abdul Matheen (32), from Budhia in West Bengal.
The accident occurred today around 11:40 AM near Buraidah in an area called Salam, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Quara police station. According to initial reports, the vehicle they were travelling in lost control after a sudden tyre burst. The car subsequently overturned, leading to the fatal crash.
Eyewitness accounts and preliminary findings suggest that the tyre blowout happened at high speed, leaving the driver with little or no time to regain control of the vehicle. The impact of the overturn was severe, resulting in the immediate deaths of both occupants.
Authorities rushed to the spot soon after being alerted and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital mortuary. Formal procedures and legal formalities are currently underway, including documentation and coordination with local authorities.
