Some people insulted Baba Saheb’s statue and put tires around his neck. Angry people have started a sit -in protest by protesting from this incident. At the same time, he is demanding strict action against the accused in the case.
With great pomp, the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the creator of Constitution, is celebrated on 14 April. Protesters adamant on arrest demand
Everyone has the same demand that the arrest of chaotic elements should be done as soon as possible. People who are picketing say that this is an insult to our constitution maker. Till the accused is not caught, we will not withdraw from here. The police, who reached the spot after the incident, appealed to the people to maintain peace. As soon as the information was received, Kichha MLA Tilak Raj Behad and Rudrapur MLA Shiv Arora also reached the spot and demanded prompt action from the administration.
Identification of suspects from CCTV
While investigating the case, the police started investigating the CCTV cameras installed around the statue. In the footage, more than half a dozen boys have been seen roaming around the park and during this time one of them had put a tire around the statue’s neck. A police official says that we have identified the suspects. Arrest will be made very soon.
