Changed career path when I didn’t get a job in Microsoft
While sharing her story on social media platform She wrote that if she had got a job at that time, she would have given up her decision to go to America and study. She wrote in the post, “It feels strange to think that if Microsoft India had not rejected me before coming to the US, I would not be here today. My plan was that if I got a good offer in India, I would leave my studies in America.”
Went to US and completed master’s degree
After not getting a job from Microsoft India, Prachiti went to America as per her schedule. He earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst). According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Earlier, Prachiti had obtained a B.Tech degree in Computer Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai.

Now working in Microsoft’s Washington office
After completing her master’s degree, Prachiti joined Microsoft as a Software Engineer in May 2026. Recently he took his parents to Microsoft’s Washington campus for the first time. “Last week I took my parents to my workplace. They were amazed to see how big the campus is and how many facilities the employees get,” she wrote.
Parents’ smile won hearts
Prachiti told that she often asked her parents if they were proud of her. But this time he did not need to ask so. She wrote, “I usually ask him, ‘Are you proud of me?’ But this time her smile was the answer for me.” She further wrote, “I am really very grateful. Looking back, I feel how special this journey has been.”
