Gopika dreamed and also faced the difficulty that came in the way in realizing it and became the first tribal air hostess of Kerala.
Gopika Govind created history by becoming the first tribal air hostess of Kerala. This is not a matter of pride for Kerala, not his achievement. Gopika was born in the ST Colony of Kavankudi near Alakode, Kerala. His parents P. Govindan and V.G. Who used to work as a daily wage laborer. Gopika Karimba is a young woman from the tribal community.
Never leave your dream
Gopika’s childhood was full of economic difficulties and limited resources. Still, he never left his dream and worked hard to fulfill it. He did his BSc in Chemistry. Due to the financial situation of the family, a time came when he had made up his mind to give up his dream, but one day his dream woke up after seeing the picture of a cabin crew member wearing an air hostess uniform in the newspaper. After this, Gopika decided to become an air hostess.
Success in second attempt
Gopika enrolled in a one -year diploma course at Dream Sky Aviation Training Academy, Kalpeta, Wayanad. Gopika could not be selected in the first attempt, but Gopika did not give up hope. He got success in the second attempt. After three months of training, Gopika took her first flight from Kannur to Gulf country.
Gopika’s success shows that it is possible to fulfill any dream with strong will. Today Gopika has become an inspiration for tribal and young women of backward communities.
