Delhi Education Minister Atishi’s visit to schools continues. On Wednesday, he visited Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence, High-End 21st Century Skills, located in Surajmal Vihar and interacted with the students. He told the students that skills are going to be very important to deal with the challenges of the 21st century. In ASOSE Surajmal Vihar, students are learning Hindi-English, German as well as computer coding languages through Java, C++, Python.

On this occasion, Education Minister Atishi said that the confidence among the students in ASOSE is a matter of pride. The confidence and skills that the students are gaining here will prepare them to face the challenges of the future. The exposure they get in school is not only making the children better professionals but also preparing them as future citizens who will be equipped with technology and ready for every challenge.

Skills to prepare for the future

The Education Minister said that the specialized education provided in the school in the field of robotics and automation is giving students the skills to prepare machines of the future. The students said that through whatever is being taught to us in this school, we are getting prepared for the future. We never got such exposure in our previous schools.

Students said that from a young age, we are being taught the skills of financial management and investment in school and to get real life experience, we are also given internship opportunities. Because of this, we are not only getting upskilling, but we are also able to recognize our capabilities.

Emphasis on concept not on memorization

Sharing their experiences of ASOSE High and 21st Century Skills School, the children said that in this school the focus is not on cramming but on understanding the concepts and strengthening the foundation. In school we are taught through case studies. Also, work is done to strengthen the foundation, as a result of which even the most difficult coding calculations become easy for us. Besides, the pattern of assessment here is also quite different. In comparison to traditional boards, DBSE assesses our understanding and analytical abilities. Our different skills are assessed.

Children also said that in high-end 21st century schools, books are used only for reference in the learning process. In the entire learning process, there is more focus on learning through practical.
