Mahindra & Mahindra today announced that it recorded a healthy growth of 24% year-on-year (y-o-y) in SUV volume in December 2023 despite facing supply challenges on select parts.
The company sells SUVs like the Bolero, Bolero Neo, XUV300, Thar, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N and XUV700.
Mahindra sold 35,171 units of SUVs in the domestic market in December 2023 as against 28,333 units in the year-ago month, witnessing a growth of 24% y-o-y.
“In December, we sold a total of 35,171 SUVs, a healthy growth of 24% over last year. We continued to face some supply challenges on select parts. We are working closely with our suppliers to mitigate these challenges going forward,” said Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra.
In FY24 so far, Mahindra’s SUV volume has touched a record 333,764 units, rising 29% y-o-y. The company sold 257,849 units in April-December FY23.
Among the company’s SUV models, the demand has been particularly high for the Scorpio-N, XUV700 and Thar.
that the SUV capacity of the company, sitting at 39,000 units per month, will increase to 49,000 units in the fourth quarter of FY24.
Mahindra is expected to enhance the capacity of brands where the waiting period is high.
