Team India’s T20 action continues continuously. After finishing the tour of Ireland and England, the T20 World Champion Indian team’s tour of Zimbabwe has also started. This journey will continue in the coming days also, where Team India also has to participate in the Asian Games 2026. Meanwhile, the Indian team will play a series in which it will play as a guest in its own home. This series will be between India and Afghanistan, which will be organized in India itself but Team India will not participate in it as a host but as a guest. According to a report, this series can be played in Delhi in September.

According to a report, a T20 series will be played between India and Afghanistan in September. But for this series, Afghanistan Cricket Board will not play the role of host but BCCI. Yes, it may seem strange to read and hear this but it is going to happen. The cricket boards of India and Afghanistan have agreed on such a series and it can be organized in September. According to the information, Arun Jaitley Stadium of New Delhi can be the venue of this series.

This has been revealed in a report by Cricinfo. According to this, this India-Afghanistan series can be played entirely in Arun Jaitley Stadium only. 3 T20 matches are to be played in this series, which can be held on 13, 15 and 17 September. However, there is no official announcement from both the boards on the venue and dates yet, but it is believed that this announcement can be made soon and Delhi can get the hosting of these three matches. This series will be played just before the Asian Games 2026.

This will be the first time that the Indian team will enter as a guest on its own soil. But this is not the first opportunity for Afghanistan to host in India. Even before this, Afghanistan has hosted teams like West Indies, Zimbabwe and New Zealand on Indian soil. The reason for this is the lack of favorable conditions for international cricket in Afghanistan. This is the reason why Afghanistan has not hosted any team in its country till date.
