Amarnath Yatra: Railways started special trains
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [भारत]July 5 (ANI): Indian Railways on Sunday started special train services to help Amarnath Yatra devotees, providing direct connectivity from Jammu to Srinagar. Srinagar Chief Area Manager Kapil Sharma confirmed that Indian Railways has set up a multi-level monitoring system to manage the huge rush of summer and Amarnath Yatra. Also, to make the journey easier for registered devotees, Aadhaar KYC verification has been started outside the station.
Special arrangements for devotees
Speaking to ANI, Kapil Sharma said, “Indian Railways is facing huge rush during summer and Amarnath Yatra. Systems have been put in place at both the headquarters and Railway Board levels to manage this. From water and electricity supply to cleanliness and punctuality of trains, every department is being monitored. Special arrangements have been made for the Amarnath Yatra. Those who are already registered can complete their verification through Aadhaar KYC outside the station. and can then begin our journey.”
He further said, “New devotees who do not have registration can go to Pantha Chowk, from where buses take them for on-the-spot registration. Food facilities are available in the trains. Security is also a priority. Special arrangements have been made with coordination between the RPF, GRP and the state police. Civic authorities, IG-level officers and senior officers conduct frequent inspections.”
Devotees happy with their journey in Vande Bharat
An Amarnath Yatra devotee praised the smooth travel experience and excellent facilities in the Vande Bharat train. He highlighted the disciplined security and excellent cooperation provided by the Railway Security Staff and Ticket Inspectors. The devotee said, “We traveled here on Vande Bharat and found the facilities very good. Earlier the journey used to be difficult, but now those problems are no more. The best thing was the cooperation of the ticket inspectors and security staff, who ensured discipline and security.”
Digital Surveillance and Security
The 57-day pilgrimage has officially started and is being heavily monitored using digital surveillance and RFID tracking systems to ensure crowd management and safety. The annual yatra is scheduled to end with the festival of Raksha Bandhan on August 28. (ANI)
