Sophie Choudry is a woman of many talents. She has been a host, actor, singer and live performer. Recently, the singer came up with her chat show, Famously Fit With Sophie.
On her show, which blends celebrity conversations and fitness, Sophie hosted celebs like Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon, and more. They shared their fitness journeys. During the promotions, Zoom exclusively interviewed . In conversation with us, she reflected on unrealistic beauty standards, her music and fitness journey, and more. Here’s what the singer had to say about the beauty standards in the film industry.
Sophie Choudry on beauty standards
Sophie was asked if she has seen a change in beauty norms in the film industry. To this, the singer told us, “There’s a lot of talk about it. I think action is a different thing. Yes, we’re definitely trying to be more inclusive. And that’s a great thing. But if you look on social media, because everyone is so influenced, everyone looks like each other.”

Sophie further recalled meeting and Esha Deol at her Fardeen Khan’s house. There, a designer told them that they looked better now than they did earlier. “I said I don’t know if it’s that or the fact that we all looked like individuals. None of us looked like each other. Even if I look at my friend Dia Mirza and me, whether it was Aishwarya (Rai), Sushmita (Sen), Bebo (Kareena Kapoor), Bipasha (Basu) or anyone of these amazing girls, nobody looked like each other. No one dressed the same. No one looked the same,” she added.
The singer went on to state that now everyone know whats is trendy and cool because of social media. And that’s the reason everybody jumps onto that; however, she feels it is no one’s fault as it’s a global phenomenon. “Everybody is looking very similar to each other. There are certain standards, but they’re unrealistic.”
Sophie Choudry: Beauty lies in imperfections
Summing up her thoughts, Sophie admitted she believes beauty lies in imperfections. In her opinion, if someone is perfect, they’re boring as they have a lot more to them. And while she agrees that everyone aspires for perfection, the singer doesn’t think anyone can attain perfection.

“We should all be different. That’s where the beauty lies,” she said. The singer hoped that people understand that there’s nothing more special than being an individual.
