Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Updates: Social worker Sonam Wangchuk, admitted to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, issued a big message from her hospital bed on Monday. Wangchuk, who has been on hunger strike for almost 22 days, has said that he is ready to end his fast today itself, but for this he has put 3 big conditions before the government and leaders. What are those 3 conditions of Sonam Wangchuk?
1. Government should take responsibility
59-year-old Sonam Wangchuk shared a note on his social media (X) account and wrote that if any one of these three circumstances arises, he will end his hunger strike today itself. His first condition is that the Central Government should take full responsibility (accountability) for the recent irregularities in the education system of the country and especially the paper leak issue of examinations like NEET.
2. Permission to go to Parliament
Wangchuk’s second condition is that, if the government does not take responsibility, then he and his party (CJP) leaders should be allowed to reach the doors of Parliament, so that they can directly put forward their demands before the MPs and leaders of various parties present there and the leaders assure them that the issue will be raised in Parliament.
3. Leaders themselves should come to the hospital
If their health or any other reason does not allow them to go out of the hospital, then honorable MPs and senior leaders of all parties should themselves come to Safdarjung Hospital and assure them that they will raise their voice for the rights of the students in the Parliament.

Hospital accused of ‘illegal detention’
Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly admitted to Safdarjung Hospital by the Delhi Police on Saturday, July 18, the 21st day of her hunger strike. Wangchuk has expressed deep displeasure over this in his letter. He wrote, ‘From this illegal detention of Safdarjung Hospital, where every means of my movement, speech and communication has been banned.’
Tight security in Delhi, no march allowed
Delhi Police is on full alert in view of the Parliament session and CJP’s ‘Chalo Sansad’ march. Heavy police force has been deployed in Jantar Mantar, Parliament House and surrounding areas. Section 163 (BNSS) has been implemented in New Delhi area, under which crowd gathering is prohibited. Delhi Police DCP Sachin Sharma has clarified that no permission was sought from the police for this march or demonstration, nor has any permission been given for any such rally. Earlier on Sunday, Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali Angmo had also appealed to the supporters to make this march a success.
