Adhik Maas Somvati Amavasya 2026: In the scriptures of Sanatan Dharma, the date of Amavasya is considered very special and sacred. This date is very auspicious for bathing, offering prayers and offering prayers to ancestors. There is a religious belief that by offering Tarpan and Pind Daan on the day of Amavasya, the ancestors are pleased and bestow blessings of happiness in life. Amavasya date of Adhimaas is very special, because this date comes once in three years.
On the new moon day of Adhikamas, one gets auspicious results by bathing in holy rivers, donating and reciting puja. The Amavasya which falls on Monday is called Somvati Amavasya. Amavasya of Jyeshtha Adhikamas is on 15th of June in the year 2026. Since this day is Monday, it is being called Samovati Amavasya. On this day growth, Sarvartha Siddhi and Amrit Siddhi Yoga is being formed. These three yogas are very auspicious. Charity on this day is considered very auspicious, but donating some things should be avoided.
Somvati Amavasya 2026 time of auspicious yogas
Vriddhi Yoga is considered very auspicious for bathing and charity. Apart from this, selfishness and Amrit Siddhi Yoga are also special. On the day of Somvati Amavasya, Vriddhi Yoga will last from sunrise to 12.35 am on June 16. Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will last from 5:54 am in the morning to 07:08 pm. Amrit Siddhi Yoga will last from 05:54 am in the morning to 07:08 pm in the evening.
Do not donate these things on Somvati Amavasya
- It is auspicious to donate clothes on Somvati Amavasya, but do not donate torn or old clothes on this day.
- By donating grains on the day of Somvati Amavasya, ancestors are satisfied, but do not donate impure and useless things.
- Donating salt on Amavasya Tithi is not auspicious. Avoid donating salt on this day. It is believed that doing this brings poverty in the house.
- Avoid donating iron on Somvati Amavasya. Apart from this, do not donate mustard oil on this day.
- According to the scriptures, do not donate old torn shoes on this day. It is believed that donating old torn shoes on Amavasya day brings inauspicious effects of Saturn.
