Last week, six of the top ten companies by market capitalization in India experienced a significant increase of ₹74,111.57 crores. The biggest gains were seen by ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Bajaj Finance, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
During the past week, the Sensex rose by 177 points, or 0.24%, closing at 75,415, while the Nifty increased by 75 points, or 0.32%, ending at 23,719.
From May 18 to 22, the market capitalization of HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India (SBI), and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) saw a decline.
TCS’s market capitalization surged by ₹19,338.68 crores, reaching ₹8,38,401.33 crores. ICICI Bank’s market cap increased by ₹14,515.93 crores, totaling ₹9,06,901.32 crores.
LIC’s market capitalization rose by ₹9,076.37 crores, now standing at ₹5,14,443.69 crores. Bajaj Finance also saw a growth of ₹3,797.83 crores, bringing its total to ₹5,70,515.57 crores. L&T’s market cap increased by ₹2,685.87 crores, reaching ₹5,40,228.21 crores.
Conversely, Bharti Airtel recorded the largest decline in market capitalization, dropping by ₹20,229.67 crores to ₹11,40,295.49 crores. Hindustan Unilever’s market cap fell by ₹16,212.18 crores to ₹5,17,380 crores, while SBI’s market cap decreased by ₹12,784.4 crores, settling at ₹8,76,077.92 crores.
HDFC Bank also faced a decline of ₹2,094.35 crores, bringing its valuation down to ₹11,79,974.90 crores.
In the ranking of the most valuable companies, HDFC Bank remains at the top, followed by Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, TCS, Bajaj Finance, L&T, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC.
