Janaki Jayanti Puja Samagri: The holy festival of Sita Navami is being celebrated with full devotion today i.e. on Saturday. The ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month is remembered as the appearance day of Mother Sita, which is also called Janaki Jayanti. According to the mythology, in the auspicious coincidence of Pushya Nakshatra, when King Janak was plowing to prepare the land for Yagya, he found Goddess Sita in the Kalash. Along with this, arrange copper Kalash, coconut, mango leaves, Ganga water, Akshat (unbroken rice), Roli, sandalwood and incense sticks. Establishment: Spread a red or yellow cloth on a stool. Install the Kalash on it and place the statue or picture of Mother Sita and Lord Ram respectfully.
Holy Bath: Bathe the idol first with Ganga water and then with Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar). After this, wipe them with a clean cloth and dress them in beautiful clothes and garland them with flowers.
Decoration and offering: Light the lamp. Apply vermilion to Mother Sita and offer makeup items. Apply sandalwood as a tilak to Lord Ram and offer fresh fruits and flowers to both of them.
Mantra and Aarti: Chant the mantras of ‘Siya-Ram’ with full devotion. In the end, perform the Aarti of Mother Sita and Lord Ram with incense sticks.
