Year 2001. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s ‘Gadar’ was released. This film was directed by Anil Sharma. The love story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and Sakina (Ameesha Patel) was shown in the picture. Meet during the partition of India. With time comes love and then marriage. Both of them also have a son. Sakina goes to Pakistan to meet her father, from where she is not allowed to return. After this the fight to bring back Sakina begins. Anil Sharma got the idea of this entire story from ‘Ramayana’. But in his own style, the twists and turns he added to the film were tremendous.
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel from Gadar
Anil Sharma’s story was completely inspired by ‘Ramayana’. The only difference was that Lord Ram goes to Lanka to take his Sita and in the film, Tara Singh had to go to Pakistan and bring back Sakina. The second change was that Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) goes there on the request of his son. Ravana was there in Ramayana, so in the picture that place was taken by Sakina’s father, who did not want to send his daughter back. This script was liked by Zee Studio and also Sunny Deol. The public also gave a lot of love to the film. Anil Sharma had narrated this idea in just 20 minutes. The film had collected Rs 78 crore.
Why did ‘Ramayana’ with Singham again seem forced?
Rohit Shetty has taken the idea of making ‘Singham Again’ from ‘Ramayana’ or should I say, he has shown the entire Ramayana in the film. The story of the film also fits perfectly, which now seems to be a hit. But if only the threads of ‘Ramayana’ were taken, it would have been more fun. The story has been completely spoiled. Looking at the film, it seems that even the makers did not believe in themselves. That’s why we planned to show ‘Ramayana’ before every big scene. Actually, many people have liked it because Ramayana has not been tampered with. But the makers have made a mistake, where the story had to be linked one by one, Ramayana was used for that.

The story became very predictable. Everyone knew who was Lakshman and who was Lord Hanuman. All that is left is action, some twists and turns and the ending. Let this predictable story continue.
