Shock to Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi HC, refusal to stay trial court proceedings

Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate on the petition of Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the alleged scam in Delhi’s excise policy. Kejriwal had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court demanding a stay on the proceedings going on in the lower court. He has challenged the order of the trial court to take cognizance of the ED charge sheet against him.

Kejriwal says that ED had not taken the necessary approval from the competent authority to prosecute him. In such a situation, the order of the trial court to take cognizance of the charge sheet is wrong. The court has fixed the next hearing of the case on December 20.
