Even though there are still several months left for Apple’s iPhone 18 series to arrive, the discussion about its prices has already started. And this discussion is not bringing good news for customers. According to recent reports, the price of iPhone 18 Pro Max may be much higher than iPhone 17 Pro Max. And this is not because Apple has decided to increase the prices, but the reason is the rising prices of memory chips, over which Apple has no control. iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive first in this series. If these rumors turn out to be true, the Pro Max could become one of the most expensive phones in the world.
iPhone 18 Pro Series: How much can it cost?
According to a report by Counterpoint Research, the cost of parts needed to make the iPhone 18 Pro Max may increase by about $ 300 compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. According to the current exchange rate, it is around Rs 28,600.
Let us make it clear that Apple has not officially announced any increase in prices. This estimate is based only on the rising cost of parts, especially DRAM and NAND memory. Due to the increasing demand for AI infrastructure across the world, there has been a huge jump in their prices this year. However, it would not be wrong to assume that some part of the increased cost will have to be borne by the customers.
Let’s see what the price of iPhone 18 Pro Max could be if this increase of Rs 28,600 is applied to the entire lineup. The current prices of iPhone 17 Pro Max in India are: Rs 1,49,900 for the 256GB model, Rs 1,69,900 for the 512GB model, Rs 1,89,900 for the 1TB model and Rs 2,29,900 for the top 2TB model.
Now if the estimated Rs 28,600 is added to these prices, then the possible prices of iPhone 18 Pro Max will be something like this…
256GB: Around Rs 1,78,500
512GB: Around Rs 1,98,500
1TB: Around Rs 2,18,500
2TB: Around Rs 2,58,500
Remember that these are not Apple’s official prices, but merely estimates based on increases in the cost of parts. The actual retail price may vary, as Apple will consider its margins, taxes in India and how much of the increased cost will be passed on to customers. But still, it gives a rough idea of how expensive the top-end iPhone 18 Pro Max could be, especially if the 2TB model crosses the Rs 2.5 lakh mark.
