Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 30 (Desk): Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan got emotional after receiving small packets of wheat from women at a village in Silwani Assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.
“After coming here, I feel emotional. I saw that my sisters gave me small packets (potli) of wheat. I asked them why are they giving it to me. They said that they were giving it to their brother (Chouhan) to make him win the elections. This is making me emotional,” Chouhan said speaking at a roadshow at Silwani.
“I have been seeing many elections. Wherever I am going in this election sisters are giving me money. Usually, money is spent on elections. But I am such a brother that my sisters are giving me money and small pockets of wheat. We will be using this money for the welfare of women,” he added.
Chouhan has been fielded by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Vidisha.
Madhya Pradesh has a total of 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, making it the sixth-largest state in terms of parliamentary representation. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved. (Desk)
