Shatabdi Express, one of the country’s most VIP trains running on the Delhi-Lucknow route, has been suddenly targeted. This dreadful incident of stone pelting on this high-profile train has alerted not only the railway administration but also the intelligence agencies of the country, because in the bogie of this train was not an ordinary person, but Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat himself.

At 7:45 in the evening… and suddenly the sound of glass breaking was heard!
The time was around 7:45 pm on Thursday evening. Down Shatabdi Express (12003 UP) going from Lucknow to New Delhi was crossing the Etawah-Tundla rail section at its full speed. As soon as the train reached Pemeshwar Gate Bridge near Firozabad Railway Station, taking advantage of the darkness, an unknown assailant targeted the train. Suddenly there was a loud explosion as the train was moving through the silence. A heavy stone hit the E1 coach of the executive class of the train, which is considered very safe. The stone was hit with such speed and force that the strong glass of the window was shattered. This moment was like a scary nightmare for the passengers sitting inside the train. There was a scream inside the bogie and within a few seconds panic spread throughout the train. No one was able to understand whether this sudden attack on a moving train was a simple mischief or whether there was some big conspiracy hidden behind it.

Commotion in E1 bogie: When security personnel lost their senses
As soon as the stone hit the window, the Special Security and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel deployed in the train were shocked. The atmosphere of suspense and fear deepened because RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was traveling in this E1 coach. Due to the presence of Mohan Bhagwat, one of the most protected personalities of the country, this stone pelting immediately took a major political and security turn. As soon as the control room received information that Mohan Bhagwat’s bogie had been attacked, there was panic in the administrative corridors from Agra to Lucknow. However, the biggest relief in this entire incident is that even after such a horrific collision, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and all the other co-passengers in the bogie are completely safe. There was no physical injury to any passenger in this attack and the train was sent forward without stopping.

Midnight Investigation: Conspiracy or Prank? Khaki busy in search
Within minutes of the incident, Firozabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Aditya Langhe, Agra Railway SP Anil Jha and SP (City) Ravi Shankar Prasad reached the Pemeshwar Gate Bridge and railway station with heavy police force. In the dark of night, the railway track and surrounding areas were converted into a cantonment. The investigating officer says, “We are investigating the case from every angle. Our priority is to find out whether the attacker was already aware of the VIP movement in the train or it is just a sudden act of some unruly element.”

Police are examining CCTV footage
Now the police and intelligence department teams are busy exposing the face behind this mysterious attack. The footage of all CCTV cameras installed at railway stations, sensitive areas around the tracks and near Pemeshwar Gate is being scrutinized. Surveillance and local intelligence have been activated. Is this breach in the security of such a big personality of the country a part of some deep conspiracy? The answer to this question will now be known only after the final investigation report of the police and disclosure of CCTV footage. Till then there is an atmosphere of tension and suspense in the area.
