Uttarakhand GST Collection: SGST collection increased by 24%, total tax collection by 22% and non-GST collection by 12% during April-June 2026 in Uttarakhand. The department stressed on increasing compliance. Know the complete details.
Uttarakhand GST Collection Update: During the review meeting of the State Tax Department in Dehradun, it was told that there is continuous improvement in GST collection in Uttarakhand. In the period April to June 2026, the department has registered a significant increase of 24 percent in net SGST collection as compared to the same period last year. At the same time, non-GST collection has increased by 12 percent and total tax collection has increased by 22 percent. This information was given by Principal Secretary R.K. Shared in the review meeting chaired by Sudhanshu.
GST Collection Report: Good increase in non-GST and total revenue also
According to the data presented in the meeting, non-GST collection during April to June 2026 increased to ₹740 crore, whereas it was ₹658 crore in the same period last year. That means it recorded an increase of 12 percent. Similarly, net SGST collection increased to ₹3,056 crore from ₹2,457 crore last year, showing an increase of 24 per cent. Total tax collection has also increased from ₹3,115 crore to ₹3,796 crore. In this way an increase of 22 percent was recorded in the total collection.
CIU Recovery: Recovery increased due to the action of Central Intelligence Unit
The performance of the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) was also reviewed in the review meeting. Officials said that ₹12.92 crore was recovered through CIU in the financial year 2025-26. At the same time, in the financial year 2026-27, till June 2026, recovery of ₹ 16.48 crore has been done. This is 27.6 percent more than the previous year, which shows effective monitoring and action of the department.

GST Compliance: Emphasis on increasing tax compliance and better use of technology
Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu instructed the officials that this positive increase in GST collection should be maintained in future also. He laid special emphasis on using available data and modern technology more effectively to strengthen tax compliance (GST Compliance). He said that regular review and monitoring should be continued at the departmental level so that the pace of tax collection is maintained. Besides providing better facilities to the taxpayers, timely disposal of pending cases should also be ensured.

SIB, Mobile Squad and Audit works were also reviewed
The progress of work related to Special Investigation Branch (SIB), Mobile Squad and audit was also reviewed in detail in the meeting. The Principal Secretary directed all concerned units to complete the set targets on time and work with better coordination. Apart from this, the status of GST compliance in hotel and restaurant services, works contracts and other key sectors was also discussed. Officials were directed to further strengthen compliance in these areas so that the state’s revenue continues to grow.
Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Commissioner State Tax Prateek Jain, Additional Secretary and Additional Commissioner Mahmohan Mainali, Additional Secretary and Additional Commissioner Anil Singh and other senior departmental officers were also present in the meeting.
