West Bengal Political Murder Case: Shocking clue revealed through toll plaza UPI payment! Police hopeful of reaching the killers in the murder case of Chandranath Rath, close to CM Suvendu Adhikari in West Bengal. The mystery of the conspiracy deepened due to CCTV, stolen vehicles and UP-Bihar connection, suspicion of professional hit team in the investigation.
Kolkata: West Bengal politics was rocked when Chandranath Rath, a close aide of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and a former Air Force personnel, was murdered in broad daylight in the middle of the road. Even after four days of the incident, the police are still empty handed, but now a digital clue (UPI Payment) has changed the direction of the investigation. A small online payment made at the Bailey toll booth can now become a noose around the neck of murderers.
200 meter distance and ‘professional’ trap of death
That Wednesday night proved to be the last for Chandranath Rath. When he was just 200 meters away from his home in Madhyamgram, a silver colored Nissan Micra overtook his Mahindra Scorpio and stopped him. The suspense deepened when investigation revealed that the shooters knew the exact location of Rath’s boarding car. As soon as the vehicle stopped, the bike-riding attackers targeted them from close range. SIT officials believe that this was not an ordinary crime, but a very ‘professional hit’ which was carried out on the basis of accurate information.

Bailey Toll Plaza: Where the murderer left his ‘shadow’
The killers abandoned the Nissan Micra after the crime and resorted to a red car and motorcycle to dodge the crime. But while running away they made a big mistake. Police have tracked the suspicious car through CCTV footage at the Bailey toll booth near Kolkata. Here a UPI payment made by the car riders has now become a ‘golden clue’ for the police. Through this digital transaction, the police is trying to access the bank account and mobile number, which can expose the real faces of the murderers.
Bihar-UP connection: Were the shooters called from outside?
The scope of the investigation has now crossed the borders of Bengal. In the initial investigation, it has become clear from the use of stolen vehicles and motorcycles that there is a big gang behind this. Two special police teams have been sent to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Officials suspect that local criminals provided only ‘logistical support’, while the main shooters were recruited from neighboring states. At least eight people are suspected to be involved in this operation.

Dead body wrapped in tricolor and burning questions
Meanwhile, when the mortal remains of former Air Force employee Rath reached his native village ‘Kulup’, the atmosphere turned somber. Seeing their leader wrapped in the national flag, the anger and sorrow of the people was sky high. This is not only a personal loss for Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, but is also a big question mark on the security arrangements of his government.
