Sawan 2026 Grahan: The month of Sawan has been dedicated to Lord Shiva. Worship of Lord Shiva in this holy month is considered especially fruitful. Lord Shiva is very pleased with the fasting and worship in the month of Sawan and bestows blessings. In this month, devotees of Mahadev try to get his blessings by performing Jalabhishek. According to Drik Panchang, this year the month of Sawan will start on 30th July and this month will end on 28th August. The month of Sawan is the most auspicious month in Hindu religion. During this entire month, the atmosphere all around becomes Shiva-like and chants of Bam-Bam Bhole and Har-Har Mahadev are heard everywhere.
In this month, spiritual energy is obtained through fasting and worship, but this time there will be eclipse twice in the month of Sawan. There will be shadow of solar eclipse and lunar eclipse in the month of Sawan. Solar and lunar eclipses often create apprehensions in people’s minds. Since eclipse is considered inauspicious in astrology and religion. It is considered very dangerous to have two eclipses in the month of Saavan within an interval of just 15 days. solar eclipse- The second and last solar eclipse of the year 2026 is going to occur on Amavasya date on 12th August. According to Indian time, this solar eclipse will start at 08:04 pm on August 12 and will end at 01:07 am at midnight. However, this solar eclipse will not be visible in India. Therefore its Sutak period will also not be valid in India.
lunar eclipse- 15 days after the solar eclipse, the moon will be eclipsed on August 28 on Saavan Purnima. According to Indian time, this last lunar eclipse of the year will start on August 28 at 08:04 am and will end at 11:22 am. This eclipse will also not be visible in India. Therefore, its Sutak period will also not be valid in India.
According to astrologers, occurrence of solar and lunar eclipse in Saavan is not a normal event from religious point of view. In astrology and religious scriptures, the event of eclipse is considered an indicator of major changes, upheaval or crisis for the zodiac sign, world, weather and politics. At the same time, the occurrence of eclipse after 15 days is considered very inauspicious. Due to eclipse of Sun and Moon by Rahu and Ketu in a short period of time (15 days), the effect of negative energy increases a lot.
Eclipse will not have negative impact in India
According to beliefs, two eclipses occurring within 15 days can lead to economic problems, inflation, natural disasters or war-like situations. Even before the Mahabharata war, there was a coincidence of two eclipses within 15 days. Religious and auspicious activities stop during the eclipse. However, both the eclipses occurring in August will not be visible in India. In such a situation, its negative impact will not be seen in the country.
