Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal Becomes FIRST Hindi Film to Release With Indian Sign Language – All You Need To Know

The makers of Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal recently released its official teaser online. Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the film follows the story of a sharp student who challenges his professor, Gopal Nadkarni, after his thesis is rejected.

Days after the teaser was released, the makers have now made a new announcement. It is regarding the film’s theatrical release. While it is known that Aakhri Sawal will be out on May 8, there’s a new development. The Sanjay Dutt-starrer has become the first Hindi movie to release with Indian Sign Language.

Aakhri Sawal to release with Indian Sign Language on May 8

Nikhil Nanda, who has produced Aakhri Sawal, shared this update on X (formerly Twitter). In his tweet, the producer mentioned, “Aakhri Sawal breaks new ground in cinematic accessibility, becoming the first film to release with born accessible Indian Sign Language on 8 May.”

The makers took a bold step to release  ‘s film in sign language recognising the importance of making cinema accessible to millions of people. That said, the film will be available in Indian Sign Language from day of its theatrical release.

The film, also starring Neetu Chandra in a key role, is based on the 100 year journey of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). It has been collectively produced by Sanjay, Nikhil, Puneet Nanda, Dr Deepak Singh, Gaurav Dubey and Ujjwal Anand. On the other hand, Utkarsh Naithani has worked on the film’s story, screenplay and dialogues. Aakhri Sawal was earlier set to release on May 15, but its release was preponed by a week.

Apart from Sanjay and Neetu, the star cast of Aakhri Sawal includes Sameera Reddy, Amit Sadh, Tridha Choudhury and Namashi Chakraborty in key roles. In an interview with Money Control, Neetu revealed that she play the role of a powerful media figure in Aakhri Sawal. Chandra shared that she essays the character of an editor-in-chief of a big channel.

On the other hand, Monty Sharma has composed music for this film, while the lyrics have been penned by Kumar Vishwas. A day ago, Sanjay also shared his character poster from Aakhri Sawal, with a tagline that reads ‘The Question India Never Stopped Asking’. For the unversed, the makers had unveiled the teaser of auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
