Cooperative Week will be organized in Chhattisgarh from June 29 to July 6. Minister Kedar Kashyap emphasized on public participation, innovation, digital services and farmers’ participation.
Raipur. On the occasion of completion of five years of establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation of the Government of India, a review meeting was organized at the residence office in Nava Raipur regarding the preparations for the Cooperative Week to be organized from 29 June to 6 July 2026. The meeting was presided over by Cooperation Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap. During this, necessary guidelines were given to the representatives of various cooperative institutions and federations along with departmental officers.
Cooperative becomes a strong foundation for farmers and rural development
Addressing the meeting, Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Cooperative Minister Shri Amit Shah, the cooperative sector in the country has got a new direction and identity. He said that today cooperatives are playing an important role in the economic strengthening of farmers, rural development, women empowerment and building a self-reliant India.
Cooperative Week campaign reaches every district and development block
Minister Shri Kashyap said that Co-operation Week should not be limited to only formal programs, but it should be made a comprehensive campaign of public participation. For this, various programs should be organized in all the districts, development blocks and cooperative societies of the state. Also, maximum participation of farmers, youth, women and common citizens should be ensured.
Special emphasis will be on awareness, participation and innovation
The Cooperation Minister directed the officials to give priority to awareness, public participation and innovation in the programs organized throughout the week. Detailed information about cooperative schemes, achievements and their benefits should be made available to the people so that more and more citizens can join the cooperative movement.
There will be active participation of farmers, women groups and producers
Shri Kashyap said that apart from farmers, active participation of women self-help groups, milk producers, fish farmers, minor forest produce collectors and handicraftsmen should be ensured during the Cooperative Week. This will further strengthen the cooperative movement at the grassroots level.
Inspiring success stories will be seen in the state level exhibition
Preparations for the state level exhibition were also reviewed in the meeting. The Minister directed that instead of displaying only statistics and reports, the success stories, innovations and ground achievements of the beneficiaries benefiting from the cooperation should be prominently presented in the exhibition. With this, common people will be able to better understand the real utility and impact of cooperation.
Cooperative institutions will be connected with digital services and modern technology
Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that with the changing times, it is necessary to connect cooperative institutions with modern technology, digital services, value addition and better marketing system. He informed that special exhibitions and discussion sessions will also be organized on these topics during the Co-operation Week.
Review of achievements and schemes of cooperative institutions
In the meeting, the role and achievements of District Cooperative Banks, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, Marketing Federation, Milk Federation, Fisheries Federation, Minor Forest Produce Association and other cooperative institutions were reviewed. All institutions were urged to present their achievements and future plans in an effective manner.
Resolve to pursue the goal of ‘prosperity through cooperation’
Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that “Prosperity through cooperation” is not just a slogan, but an important basis of the working culture of development. He said that the aim of the government is to extend the benefits of cooperation to the last person of the society and to include Chhattisgarh among the leading cooperative states of the country.
In the meeting, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Association Mr. Jitendra Shukla, Cooperative Commissioner Mr. Ramesh Sharma, Managing Director of Apex Bank Mr. K.N. Kande, Additional Commissioner Cooperative Societies Mrs. Savitri Bhagat along with senior officers of the department and representatives of various cooperative institutions and federations were present.
