Dehradun/New Delhi. The situation remains tense after a violent clash between two communities in Bairagiwala village of Vikasnagar area of Uttarakhand. A young man named Vinod died in the clash, after which anger erupted among the people in the area. A large number of people came out on the streets demanding the arrest of the accused and action against their homes. The situation went out of control when the crowd pelted stones in the presence of the police during the demonstration. A house of the accused was set on fire. In view of the situation, the administration has stopped internet services in the area. A case has been registered against 12 people in this case. After the incident, the administration has also started bulldozer action.

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which the entire sequence of violence is visible. In the video, many people are seen attacking each other with sticks. It can be seen in the footage that suddenly an atmosphere of chaos is created in the streets and lanes of the village. Some people are seen running with sticks in their hands, while many people are seen running here and there to save themselves. There is an atmosphere of screams and stampede in the entire area.
The dispute started regarding watering the fields
According to the police, this entire dispute started over watering the fields. Initially there was an altercation between the two parties, but within some time the matter turned into a violent clash. Many scenes of this violence have been captured in the CCTV footage that has now surfaced, which shows the seriousness of the incident. In the video, people are seen attacking each other and an atmosphere of fear is visible in the entire village.
Women and children also remained under the shadow of fear
The video also shows that women and children were seen searching for safe places after the violence started. Due to the sudden attack, an atmosphere of fear spread in the entire village. In this violent clash, a Hindu youth died, while three people including a woman were injured. As soon as the news of the youth’s death spread, there was anger among the villagers and workers of various Hindu organizations.
Demand for arrest of accused and bulldozer action
After the incident, workers of many Hindu organizations reached Bairagiwala village and started protesting. The protesters demanded immediate arrest of the accused, strict action against them and bulldozing of their houses. The protesters also raised the demand for encounter of the accused. They allege that this is not a normal fight but a case of mob lynching of a Hindu youth.
Demonstration by blocking the national highway
Angry people blocked the National Highway demanding the arrest of the accused. The demonstration continued for several hours and a large number of people remained on the road. The protesters said that their agitation will continue until all the accused are arrested. During this period, many heated arguments were seen between the police and the protesters.
Security increased in the area, internet service closed
After the incident, security arrangements have been tightened in the entire area. Police have deployed additional forces and are continuously monitoring sensitive areas. To maintain law and order and prevent rumours, the administration has temporarily shut down internet services. The entire area has been converted into a police cantonment.
BJP MLA Munna Singh Chauhan assured action
After the incident, BJP MLA Munna Singh Chauhan was the first to reach the hospital and inquire about the well-being of the injured. After this he reached Bairagiwala village and met the victim’s family. He assured the family of getting justice and instructed the police officers present at the spot to take strict action against the accused. The MLA said that strict action will be taken against the culprits under the law. Besides, the station in-charge of Sahaspur Kotwali has also been instructed to take strict action in the matter.
