Even Rohit Sharma’s historic century could not save the team. With this, for the first time since 2018, England won the ODI series 2-1.
Duckett’s century, record score made at Lord’s

But the pitch at Lord’s had made complete arrangements to make Sunday entertaining. It was started by the host England itself, when its batsmen defeated the Indian bowlers. Ben Duckett played a record inning of 141 runs in 135 balls, which is the biggest innings on this ground. On this basis, England scored 387 runs losing 3 wickets, which is the highest score in ODI cricket at Lord’s.
Team India was without Jasprit Bumrah in this match, who was out due to injury. England took advantage of this and Duckett added 192 runs with Jacob Batchelor for the first wicket. After this, Duckett made a partnership of 101 runs with Joe Root. In the end Root and Jos Buttler attacked together. Root scored his third consecutive half-century and returned unbeaten all three times. Whereas Butler scored 41 runs in just 13 balls. Root and Butler together made a partnership of 63 runs in just 19 balls.
Rohit’s century answer
But the Indian team also responded strongly and its star became Rohit Sharma, whose retirement speculations had become increasingly intense and it was being claimed that this would be his last match at Lord’s. Rohit Sharma, who had failed miserably in the last two matches, gave a befitting reply to all these claims and criticisms with an 86-ball century. He became the first Indian to score an ODI century at Lord’s. Rohit made a partnership of 147 runs with captain Shubman Gill and then added 113 runs with Virat Kohli.
Karan won in 8 balls
Rohit Sharma’s excellent inning of 138 runs (110 balls) gave hope to the Indian team for victory. Virat Kohli was seen ensuring this. But then everything changed within just 8 balls. Sam Curran destroyed the Indian innings in the 44th and 46th overs. Within 8 balls of these 2 overs, Karan sent back Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer and the last hope Virat Kohli (74) to the pavilion.
