Mumbai: Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has wrapped up a 15-day schedule of his upcoming film Golmaal 5 in Ooty, where he shot an extensive mix of action and drama sequences. The schedule saw most of the ensemble cast, including Ajay Devgn participating, while Akshay Kumar was absent due to prior commitments.
A source revealed, “Ajay Devgn and the majority of the cast were part of the Ooty schedule, except Akshay Kumar, who is currently shooting in Kerala with director Anees Bazmee.”
While he known for his affinity for Goa as a signature filming location, Shetty has also frequently returned to Ooty for key projects. He had previously shot at the iconic Fernhills Mansion (aka Fernhills Palace) for Golmaal Again (2017) and filmed portions of Cirkus (2022) in the hill station.
Following the outdoor schedule, the team is now set to return to Mumbai, where the next phase will commence shortly. Both Devgn and Shetty took to social media to share updates and glimpses from the Ooty shot.
The Golmaal franchise, which took off in 2006, remains one of Bollywood’s most successful action-comedy series, and Golmaal 5 marks its highly anticipated fifth installment currently in production. It features a returning ensemble cast, including Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor.
