Fashion designer Rohit Bal breathed his last late on Friday night at the age of 63. He died of a heart attack. He had undergone angioplasty in the year 2010 itself. Since 1986, he has been doing fashion business in the name of his own label (a designer who started a fashion brand in his own name). His brand name, which started from Delhi, gradually became famous in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad.

The name of Rohit Bal, who made a name for himself in India, soon became popular in many parts of the world. Her fashion shows were held in cities like New York, Singapore, London, Jakarta, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Munich, Colombo and Geneva. Many of her fashion shows were also held in the fashion capital of the world, Paris. Tie-up with Khadi, opened fashion stores and restaurants
Rohat Bal’s business empire was very big. In the year 1986, he along with his brother opened the company ‘Orchid Overseas Private Limited’. This was export business. Later he opened stores under his own label name. His first independent collection came in 1990.
When Khadi Village Industries Commission planned to make ‘Khadi’ a designer, Rohit Bal was first connected with Ritu Beri. Not only this, Rohit was one of the founding members of the Fashion Design Council of India.
His business empire not only includes fashion stores but also restaurants like ‘Veda’ and ‘Cibo’. Rohit Bal was a Kashmiri by birth. His family migrated from Srinagar to Delhi in the 1970s. After this he stayed here. According to media reports, his net worth is around 5 million dollars.
