After the defeat of the opposition grand alliance in the by-elections held on four assembly seats in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday claimed that this alliance will win the next assembly elections in the state. Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav expressed happiness over his party’s better-than-expected performance in neighboring Jharkhand, where the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance has retained power.
In the 2019 elections in Jharkhand, RJD had won only Chatra seat, but this time it won Deoghar, Godda, Bishrampur and Hussainabad seats.
Shock to RJD in by-elections
The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar has won the by-elections of all four assembly constituencies. In this, RJD retained the hold on Imamganj seat while snatched away Tarari, Ramgarh and Belaganj from the Grand Alliance.
Defeat on some seats is not a big deal
While talking to journalists in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav said, defeat on some seats is not a big deal. We had gained lead in these assembly constituencies in the recent Lok Sabha elections. We will perform better in the 2025 assembly elections and the grand alliance will form the next government in Bihar. Winning and losing is part of elections. We are not disappointed at all. We fought the elections unitedly.
Won four assembly seats in Jharkhand
RJD failed to retain its hold on Belaganj and Ramgarh seats while the party candidate had to face defeat on Imamganj seat also. The RJD leader said, we won four assembly seats in Jharkhand. Under the leadership of Hemant Soren, the Grand Alliance won the Jharkhand Assembly elections by a huge margin. We are once again forming the government in Jharkhand. After Jharkhand, the Grand Alliance will form the government in Bihar in 2025.
