India increased its naval strength by inducting INS Dunagiri, INS Modihar and INS Agray. Will these indigenous warships change India’s strategic hold in the Indian Ocean?

Indian Navy Maritime Security: A new history was created on Sunday, June 21, to protect the country’s maritime borders and increase India’s dominance in the Indian Ocean. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commissioned three indigenously designed and built lethal naval warships – INS Dunagiri, INS Modhik and INS Agray – into the Navy at a grand ceremony held at the historic Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Port in Kolkata. The simultaneous landing of three powerful weapons in the sea is an unprecedented event in the history of the Indian Navy. This step will not only take India’s combat, reconnaissance and anti-submarine capabilities to new heights, but will also demoralize the enemies. The biggest feature of these three ships is that they have been designed and built in India only. This step towards self-reliance in the defense sector reflects India’s growing technological capability and indigenous manufacturing strength.

‘Invisible hunter’ equipped with BrahMos: The scary truth of INS Dunagiri

INS Dunagiri is the first superfighter to join the Indian Navy. It is an advanced stealth frigate built under ‘Project 17A’. This means that it is capable of attacking very cleverly by avoiding the sight of enemy radar. But the real suspense lies in its deadly weapons. INS Dunagiri is equipped with the world’s most dangerous and accurate BrahMos surface-to-surface missile system. Along with this, medium range surface-to-air missiles have also been fitted in it. This ship is a mobile fortress, which will give the Indian Navy an invincible edge in ‘blue-water operations’ (deep sea warfare).

Sentinel of the depths of the sea: How will INS Modifier reveal the secret?

War is won not just with weapons, but with accurate information and INS Modifier is coming to fulfill this mission. This is a huge survey vessel (Survey Vessel Large), whose job is to conduct accurate hydrographic surveys in coastal and deep waters. This ship will collect data of very sensitive geographical and geophysical information like mountains, valleys and water temperature hidden under the sea. According to defense experts, this secret data of the depths of the sea will prove to be the backbone in providing safe passage to our submarines and tracking the movement of the enemy. It will also become a mega storehouse of data for scientific and civil works.

‘Silent killer’ of shallow waters: INS Agray and the devastation of submarines

In coastal areas and shallow waters, enemy submarines often try to attack from stealth, but now they are no longer in power. The Arnala-class INS Agray is specifically designed for anti-submarine warfare in shallow waters. INS Agray is equipped with lightweight torpedoes, indigenous rocket launchers and state-of-the-art shallow water sonar systems. It has the ability to immediately detect any unknown threat or enemy submarine present under water and destroy it in the blink of an eye. With its arrival, an impenetrable protective shield has been created around India’s coastal waters.

75 percent indigenous content, participation of more than 200 MSMEs
