A shameful incident happened in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. A newly married woman returning after visiting the temple was gang-raped. Her husband was tied to a tree. Four days after the incident, seven accused have been arrested, one accused is still absconding. This gruesome incident has frightened people. This incident, which took place two kilometers away from the temple, has raised questions on law and order.
The opposition has also raised questions regarding the incident. MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari has accused the police of hiding the incident. He said that there is jungle raj in the state. Crime is highest here and 18 to 20 girls are raped every day in the state. The statement of Rewa gangrape victim has also come to light. The victim told that she was threatened by an accused boy. He was told that he was the son of the media in-charge. Even the police-collector cannot do any harm to him.

The victim told that she was intimidated by showing her a glass bottle. If he shouted, he was threatened with death. His bike keys and mobile were snatched away. The victim says that the accused beat her up and hit her husband with a stone. After that he took her husband to another place. Then she was raped by five accused one by one. The victim told the police that 5 people were involved in this incident. Whereas some of his associates were also involved in this incident.
Police caught seven criminals
On the complaint of the victim, the police intensified the search for the accused. About 100 people were detained for questioning. According to the police, the victim told that one of the accused had tattoos on his chest and hands. Rewa Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh said that the police have detained seven people, including the suspects who allegedly raped the woman. One accused is absconding and is being searched. Investigation of the matter is ongoing. According to the police, the victim husband and wife are 19-20 years old and are still studying in college. Both of them got married recently.
The brute confessed to the crime
The police officer said that investigation has been conducted by the FSL team at the incident site. Medical examination of the victim was also done. One accused is absconding. Police is busy arresting him. One of the accused has confessed that he had gone towards Bhairav Baba temple with his companions. There were five people. There he drank, ate food and took bath there. Later his three more friends came. Then they saw a boy and a girl sitting on a rock. He reached them together. Then everyone reached there. 4-5 people gang-raped the girl. He also made a video of his car. The girl’s mobile was snatched away which was later given to her.
The incident happened on 21 October
According to the victim, on October 21, she had gone to visit the temple with her husband. On his return in the afternoon, he sat on a rock near Kodia drain, 2 kilometers away from the temple. Then 5 youths assaulted him. Her husband was tied up and gang-raped. The accused also made their video. He was threatened with death. After the incident he reached home scared. The next day on October 22, he lodged a complaint with the police.
