Two leaders in Bihar have announced their resignation from JDU. The reason for the resignation of these leaders of Nitish Kumar’s party is the Waqf Amendment Bill. These two leaders have expressed dissatisfaction through resignation on the support of the party on the Waqf Amendment Bill brought by the Central Government.
On this bill, JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad claimed that neither Mohammad Qasim Ansari from East Champaran nor Nawaz Malik of Jamui are now the party officials.
Mohammad Qasim Ansari, who claimed to be the Chairman of the JDU’s Medical Cell in East Champaran, did not support the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and has also criticized the party’s support on it. He said that he also resigned from all the posts of the party.
The party broke the trust of Muslims
In a letter to JDU President and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Ansari expressed deep disappointment, saying that the party’s stance has broken the trust of millions of Indian Muslims, who believed that the JDU would maintain secular values.
He said that the trust of millions of Indian Muslims like us has been broken. We were confident that Nitish Kumar would stand up completely with the secular ideology, but it did not happen.
The unwavering faith in Nitish Kumar has completely broken. Lakhs of dedicated Indian Muslims and workers have been deeply shocked by the attitude adopted by JDU on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
He said that we are very disappointed about the speech given by Lalan Singh in the Lok Sabha and the support of this bill. Similarly, Malik described himself as the secretary of the minority cell of JDU. He alleged in his letter that Muslims and activists like us are shocked by JDU’s stand on the issue of Waqf Bill.
Nobody knows Ansari
In this regard, JDU national spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that no one knows Ansari. Rajiv Ranjan said who is Ansari? He has never been an important officer or prominent person in the party. I do not even know them. He never took any position in the party, not even at the district level.
A colleague of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that there is no confusion within the JDU for the support of the party for the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament.
