Relief to the people of Delhi, MCD extended the deadline for geo-tagging of properties till March 31. – Khel Ja – Khel Ja

If you live in Delhi or have property in Delhi then this news is going to give you relief. The period of geo-tagging of MCD properties has been extended for one more month. Now the last date for geo-tagging of MCD properties is 31 March 2024. MCD has to geo-tag about 15 lakh properties, but a large number of properties have not been tagged yet, so now its date has to be extended.

MCD had to do geo-tagging of 15 lakh properties in the first 50 days but after two and a half months, the work of half the properties could not be completed. Because of which MCD has given an opportunity to taxpayers to geo-tag their properties. Therefore, it has been decided to extend the last date of geo-tagging of properties till March 31, 2024.

Many people in Delhi have not yet done geo tagging.

According to Delhi Municipal Corporation, it has come to the notice that a large number of property taxpayers in Delhi have not yet geo-tagged their properties. According to MCD, if the taxpayers do not get their properties geo-tagged by March 31, they will be liable to pay tax for the financial year. In 2024-25, you will not be able to avail exemption on lump sum payment of tax till June 30, 2024.

Earlier, the last date for geo-tagging in the capital Delhi was 31 January, which was extended to 29 February. But now its last date has to be extended again. The aim of the government is to extend the benefits of this scheme to as many people as possible.

Geo tagging is mandatory for property tax exemption

In such a situation, all the property taxpayers who have not yet geo-tagged their properties have been requested to geo-tagged their properties by the due date i.e. 31st March 2024.

At present geo tagging is necessary. Because only the property which is tagged will get exemption in property tax. Property owners can easily do geo tagging by themselves through unique or property number.
