Relief even amidst crisis, 53 lakh LPG cylinders delivered, supply chain strong

According to the latest data, more than 53.5 lakh domestic LPG cylinders were delivered in a day, which is at a normal level as compared to booking. It is clear from this that at present common consumers are not facing shortage of gas.

During this period, more than 39,000 PNG consumers surrendered their LPG connections through MYPNGD.in portal. It is believed that due to availability of piped gas facility, people are reducing their dependence on cylinders.

Sharp jump in demand for auto LPG

Auto LPG sales of public sector oil companies have reached an average of 305 metric tons per day in April 2026 (till April 17), which is much higher than 177 metric tons per day in February 2026. This indicates that the demand for LPG in the auto sector is increasing rapidly.

Indian flagged crude oil tanker Desh Garima has passed safely through the important sea route Strait of Hormuz. There are 31 Indian sailors on board this tanker and it is expected to reach Mumbai on 22 April 2026. This is a relief news for India, because this route is very important for global oil supply.
