On Wednesday, this issue was also discussed in the assembly regarding increasing water bills and irregular supply. Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma said that complaints of more water bills are serious and the government will soon take steps to provide relief on it. He assured that until the solution is found, no consumer’s water connection will be deducted.
Accused of irregularity in meter reading
Pravesh Verma also accused the meter readers that they are doing irregularities, which are getting wrong bills to the people. He appealed to the public that if a meter reader makes a mess, then complain about it. BJP MLAs also protested in the assembly over this issue.
In Delhi, the demand for water increases rapidly during the summer season, but people are upset due to lack of supply. Delhi Jal Board says that old pipelines, increasing population and not getting adequate water from neighboring states are the main reasons for this crisis.
