The date for nomination for Maharashtra Assembly elections is over. A total of 7995 candidates have filed nominations for 288 seats in the state. BJP led NDA i.e. Grand Alliance includes Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP(S) are part of the Congress-led India Alliance (Maha Vikas Aghadi). Despite this, due to the entry of rebel leaders on many seats, two candidates of NDA and India alliance are seen in the fray, due to which the political tension of both the alliances has increased.
This time in Maharashtra all the parties are facing rebellion from their leaders. If some leaders of the parties included in the NDA and India alliance did not get tickets, then independents have entered the electoral fray. Due to this, the situation has become such that Shinde’s Shiv Sena’s rebel is in the field against BJP and BJP’s rebel is in the field against NCP. If the rebel candidates contesting as independents do not withdraw their names till November 4 and remain in the election till the end, then it will be a headache not only for the official candidates but also for the alliance.
