Now the rebels have become a big challenge in the electoral battle of Maharashtra. The election in-charges of both the alliances are looking for a way to convince the rebels. BJP led NDA i.e. Grand Alliance includes Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sharad Pawar’s NCP(S) are part of the Congress-led India Alliance (Maha Vikas Aghadi).
Despite this, due to the entry of rebel leaders on many seats, two candidates of NDA and India alliance are seen in the fray, due to which the political tension of both the alliances has increased. Among the rebels who have filed their nomination from BJP, a big name is that of Gopal Shetty. He has won from Borivali assembly constituency of Mumbai. BJP’s Bala Bhegde also did not get the ticket, so he has fielded an independent candidate. BJP claims that all the independents will sit on time.
BJP’s Amol Shinde on the path of rebellion from Pachora seat
BJP’s Amol Shinde has rebelled from Pachora seat and has entered the fray as an independent candidate. From Mumba Devi seat, BJP leader Atul Shah has adopted a rebellious stance and has entered the fray as an independent candidate. BJP leader Vijayraj Shinde has fielded an independent from Buldhana seat. BJP leader Prakash Gavai has filed independent nomination from Mehkar seat.
Hasmukh Gehlot, who was the BJP’s deputy mayor from Ovala Majiwada, has rebelled and entered the field. BJP leader Sunil Shinde has rebelled on Paithan seat. BJP leader Bhaskar Danve rebelled against Jalnaya seat. BJP’s Sunil Mirkar has rebelled and contested the election from Sillod seat.
Sawantwadi seat Vishal Parba increased tension
Vishal Parba of BJP has rebelled against Sawantwadi seat. BJP’s Satish Ghatge is the rebel candidate from Ghansawangi seat. BJP’s Kiran Thackeray has fielded as an independent candidate from Karjat seat. However, political parties believe that rebels do not have much impact in 288 assembly seats, it has an impact in smaller states.
BJP leaders contested against NCP on 9 seats
BJP leaders have come up against Ajit Pawar’s NCP candidate on about 9 seats. In this, BJP’s Ambrish Atram has won the Aheri seat. BJP’s Shirish Chaudhary has contested Amalner seat. Similarly, Jagdish Gupta has contested Amravati seat as an independent. BJP’s Milind Ambal has contested the Vasmat seat.
BJP’s Ranganath Solanke from Pathrit, BJP’s hope on Junnar seat has been dashed. BJP’s Bala Bhegde has contested Maval seat as an independent candidate. BJP’s Dilip Gaikwad has won the Udgir seat. Ramesh Thorat has won the election on Kalwan seat. Overall, there has been rebellion on 35 seats in Maharashtra NDA.
9 BJP rebels against Shinde Sena candidates
9 Shinde Sena rebels are in the fray against BJP candidates, 9 BJP rebels are in the fray against NCP candidates. 7 leaders of Shinde Sena have rebelled against NCP candidates. An NCP rebel is in the fray against the Shinde Sena candidate, while so far 14 MVA leaders have rebelled and contested the elections.
Overall, about 50 rebels are posing a challenge to both the parties in Maharashtra politics. However, political parties are still hopeful that they will be able to convince many of the rebels by the date of withdrawal of nominations on November 4.
